Tears or Tears

Tears of sadness

Tears of joy

Tears for the madness

Tears for being

Destroyed

Tears can signal the best there’s been

Tears can tear apart the love we’ve seen

The tears at the fabric of our society

Bring tears of expanding anxiety

‪Great‬

Greatness lies hidden

At times in people forbidden

But this trait will typically shine through

A radiance that shows the you

You were meant to radiate

To share your sense of great-

fullness

Which offers full redress

For the missed magnificence

It is what all makes sense

Starting

I rub the sleep from my eyes

finding focus

I see now,

clearly,

what I’ve been looking for,

dreaming about,

It

is

you

I

am

better for you

Together

we make

a love,

a life,

a family

Two become

one,

who become

infinite possibilities

Do

Do

what you can

Do

n’t just sit there doing nothing

Do

make eye contact

Do

n’t avoid those you pass each day

Do

reach out

Do

n’t pull away, say hi

Do

you remember porches?

Do

n’t forget waves & smiles & what they

Do

for us

Do

good things each day

Do

n’t stop loving each other

‪Thoughts‬

I think I

Thought

About

That

But that’s just

Where

it’s

at

I thought

about thinking

But stopped

Two Limericks for Where My Head Is

Deadly Limerick

The AR-15 was built with but one intent

The bodies its bullets they rent

Civilian use can’t explain

Why those bullets still rain

Into children, to school society sent

Will More?

How many more innocents need die

Before we have no tears left to cry

We must speak up to fight

You really need this “right”

To own the AR-15, tell me why?

Working my way through this latest tragedy. I sure hope we can stop saying that. I am moved by the young people of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and the passion to create change.

‪Don’t‬

Don’t take me for granted

Do not think that we’ll

meet your every need

Don’t sit back for this to pass

Do not think I don’t notice

your greed

Don’t forget they have names

Do not forget another

will happen indeed

Don’t believe the status quo

remains

Do not Do Nothing

indeed

Who Needs These?

Such reverence for the second amendment

NRA, “Don’t take my right to slaughter armaments.”

The NRA will continue to defend

Owning these killing devices to the end

I support those for disarmament

Why Try

Why why why

Tears in our eyes

Not a dry eye

As we cry

And try to find allies

To stop standing by

As more and more die

Try try try

To stop the guy

The one that’s too shy

Who’s trained his mind’s eye

On the reply

That let the words fly

Sigh
